Question

Our company knows nothing about commercial interior design – we honestly don't know where to start or end?

You are not the first to ask and it is our responsibility to guide you the way. We suggest you read the links "Design process" and "What we do" to get more comfortable and at anytime you are welcome to contact us too.

Why do we need an interior design studio – it seem to be an extra cost for our company?

Interior design is more than just aesthetic, layout plans and optimizing your brand awareness. We are trained to see options and possibilities that most will overlook. We view your project with "fresh eyes" and start from scratch. Most of the time your ROI exceed our cost. We might optimize your tenant space in a shopping mall by 5% and thereby increase your turnover. A hotel we re-layout the space and create 20% more keys. By building smarter, it let you retail fit-out finish faster etc.

Question

How much does interior design cost?

Each project is individual and we always estimate our fees based on each individual case. There are guidelines for estimating larger projects such as shopping malls, hotels, restaurants etc. Some estimate the fees on construction cost however as we don't do turnkey projects we always propose a fee that reflect the time and cost for i.e. 3D rendering, printing, travel etc.

Why should I work with bomancreative for my project?

Excellent question and we will be the first to admit there are many other good design companies besides us. With a Scandinavian background and presence in Asia since 2002 we build the creative bridge between East and West and bring the best from the two worlds together. Even we do a project on a local marked, most likely todays local customers are also international travellers or in other ways part of the globalization. When that is said, working with a design studio is like entering a restaurant: the food is important, but so are the atmosphere and the service from the staff. If you like the 'starter menu' you most likely enjoy the main course and go for the dessert too! Have your experience been well, you might tell your friends and we will most likely meet again!

How can I be sure I will like the design you do for us?

Typically we will know from first meeting if we have a match. If we don't feel we are the right studio for your project, we will openly tell you. With a good brief, a well prepared initial design phase we most likely get on the track from the beginning – you won't have to wait for final build to know if it is for you or not. Please also have a good look at our previous design projects "Work" and further you can review the different "Design process" of developing your project. There are several phases to evaluate the design development during these steps.

Can you do a project for free first?

Let’s be realistic: Some companies offer this but no project is for free – studios still need to pay staff, rent and operational cost. If you choose a design studio for a free project, do know that the design fee you later pay you only get 70% return. 20-30% of your hard earned money for the fee is already allocated to other 'free' projects. Don't do that! Please read more about this delicate subject on the link "What we don't do".

Once we know each other we have a mutual trust and we will be happy to help you get the projects and do some work together as it will benefit us both.

If you give me a project for free now, I will make sure to get you many more projects hereafter?

Thank you, but we rather charge you the realistic fee now and then discount once we get to know each other better. The more projects we develop together, the faster and more cost-efficient we can deliver. That's a win/win for both of us.

In which locations do you offer your commercial interior design service?

We are an international design studio based in Asia and as such most of our projects is in this region, but we have projects all over the world: Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Turkey, Denmark (and Scandinavia), Saudi Arabia, USA and many more. We are affiliated with designers and drafting people in Mainland China, Thailand, Hong Kong, India and Denmark.

What projects type do you do?

We mainly design commercial interior design; retail, hotel/residence, leisure/F&B besides architecture and graphics. Please refer to our "Work" page.

Can you decorate my new house?

Sorry, but we don't do private residential interior design. There are studios that are much better than we are for this – it demands a very personal interaction with end-user so make your choice carefully. But if you have a 200 unit apartment building on your drafting board, we would be more than happy to be involved in the interior design for each unit.

How big is your design studio?

We are setup as a small studio – by own choice! Being a small team we don't carry a lot of expenses to run our studio. We can be close to our customers and unlike larger studios – where contacts come and go and information gets lost – you can trust that our team will be hands on throughout each project. Question

Do I need to use your suppliers?

Absolutely not! We don't have any fixed suppliers, but we have a good network with a wide selection of i.e. material finishes, lighting, furniture etc., who we trust and recommend, but only if needed for your projects. Further we don't take any commission at all, so if you are a supplier, kindly don't offer such.

How quick can you do a project?

Please refer to our “Design process” page to see the different steps. We always recommend working as fast as practical, not as fast as possible. Interior design is a big investment and we rather spend your hard earned money getting the concept and the drawings correct rather than you spend a lot of resources on re-building poorly developed design.

How big projects can you design?

Size doesn’t matter but the look does! We have been involved in 300,000 square meter airport projects and 40 square meter retail stores. A shopping mall is not necessarily more difficult to design because of the many repeating elements than a 3-story retail shop for luxury goods. So far we have never met a project that is too small, too big or too far away.

Is commercial interior design expensive?

Our philosophy is that good design does not equal expensive construction cost. Every designer can specify expensive material and finishes, adding complicated light design and AV – that's very easy, but we don’t do that! We rather see it as a challenge to make a profitable design by innovation, thoughtful approach to your project and to level the cost to your expectations and make it a profitable investment. After all your success will be our success!

当然不用！我们并没有固定的供应商，但是我们有一个很好的工作关系网可提供大量我们信任并推荐的选择，例如材料装饰、灯光、家具等供应商，但只有在您项目需要的时候。此外，我们不接受任何佣金，所以如果您是供应商，请不要这样做。

尺寸不重要，颜值很重要！无论是30万平方米的机场项目还是40平方米的零售店，我们都承接过设计。购物中心有很多重复元素，所以不一定会比一个三层的奢侈品专卖店更难设计。迄今为止，我们还未遇到过太小，太大或者太远以至做不了的项目。

我们的理念是出色的设计不等于昂贵的建设成本。每个设计师都可以指定昂贵的材料和饰面，添加复杂的灯光和视频——这很容易，但我们不这样做！我们更愿意将其视为一项挑战，即通过创新和深思熟虑来实现项目的盈利设计，并将成本控制在您的预期范围，使其成为一项有利可图的投资。毕竟您的成功也是我们的成功！
